GUIDANCE

Good Afternoon Parents and Guardians,

We are currently preparing for our Annual Career Day on February 16, 2018!

This is an amazing event that we have organized and hosted for the past eight years. It is successful mainly due to the connection between our community and our students, and the opportunity to inspire students to pursue career fields they may have some interest in.  Our students are always engaged and learn a great deal from our speakers.  It is truly a great day and we are reaching out to you because you may have additional contacts, or may want to speak yourself, on Career Day!

Here are some of the details about the event:

When:  Friday, February 16, 2018

Where:  Beverly High School

Time:  9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m., starting at the BHS Cafeteria for light refreshments and welcome

Format:  Two 45-minute presentations to small groups of Juniors (15-25) who are interested in your career field. You will be speaking with 1-3 others in similar fields. Presentations can be given as lecture, powerpoints, handouts, etc. (You will be preparing a 10-15 minute presentation.) Presentation topics include education/training required, daily job tasks, salary, related fields, visuals and artifacts from your job, etc. Students also like to hear about your school experience and journey.

Please email me directly at mloosian@beverlyschools.org if you or a family member/friend would like to volunteer to speak on that day.

Thank you very much for considering this event and helping us to make this a success for our students!

Happy Holidays to All!

Sincerely,

Melinda Loosian
